Works for Me Wednesday: Stinky Dish Cloths

To get the stinky smell out of dishcloths, follow these clever steps:

  1. Wet the stinky dishcloth and wring it out. (The cloth must be thoroughly damp.)
  2. Spread the cloth in your microwave.
  3. Microwave on high for about 25 seconds.
  4. Be careful when you're taking it out, or you'll scald the bejeebers out of your fingers.
Now, look, you've still got to wash the cloth. But now it won't sit there in your laundry, reeking to high heaven, until you're finally ready to throw a load on.

I kept smelling something awful in my room and I just knew the cat had left a pile under the bed and I couldn't find it, but the smell!!! Finally found out it was the dish cloth in the laundry, it smelled that bad! ugh. I'm microwaving them all now.

That actually makes sense to me: perhaps cooking the bacteria or whatever causing the smell?

I do so much laundry around here that mine don't get the chance to stink.

I really thought about this as I did a load of laundry tonight...where does the smell go?? Evaporate into the microwave??
I wonder if this trick would work for stinky socks? Not that I wouldn't wash the socks, but just out of pure curiosity sake!LOL Cuz I'm telling you...my husband has the smelliest socks sometimes!
